DR. MICHAEL BALLKE

Dr. Michael Ballke is a specialist in neural therapy and a specialist in general medicine. Ballke grew up in the old Hanseatic and university town of Greifswald by the Baltic Sea.

After hospital practice in South Africa, Australia and England, he started as a general practitioner in Hammerfest. He did a year’s hospital practice at UNN in Tromsø, and afterwards he continued with general practice in Andenes and in Båtsfjord.

In 2004 and 2005 he was on a study trip through Central and South America, where he worked and interned with doctors Armin Reimers (Mexico City), Rina Ponce (Guatemala City) and Julio Cesar Payan de la Roche (Popayan, Colombia) in connection with further education in neural therapy. He became a specialist in neural therapy in 2009 and a specialist in general medicine in 2010.

From 2011 to 2013, he worked at Heggeli Holistic Medicine (Oslo), where he became familiar with functional medicine and took an education in this field. In the autumn of 2013, he started the Hippocrates Clinic with a focus on holistic pain management (neural therapy) and functional medicine. In January 2015, Michael moved with his family to Sandefjord, where he works as a general practitioner at Sandefjord Health Park, Legene Nord, and has continued the Hippocrates clinic in the form of PainFreeClinic.

Orthopaedic Manual Physiotherapist Karsten Hernes Larsen

Karsten is a specialist in evaluation and treatment of pain and injury to joints and
surrounding tissues. He grew up in a small town outside Trondheim on the coast of Norway as well as the outskirts of Dayton Ohio in the USA.
Before embarking on his physiotherapy career Karsten took a leadership education with the Royal Norwegian Air Force, and worked as a Crew Chief Sergeant with responsibilities for heavy equipment and a team of soldiers until 2013. Then, after graduating as a physiotherapist from Poznan University of Medical Sciences in Poland in 2016, he continued his studies in Barcelona. Where he combined his studies and a full time job as a physiotherapist at a Norwegian rehabilitation center in Altea. In 2018 he graduated with a Masters degree in Orthopaedic Manual Physiotherapy from UIC Barcelona – International University of Catalonia.
His research has focused on the treatment and rehabilitation of Parkinson’s Disease, Low Back Pain, and Hip and Knee Osteoarthritis. He has developed a statics program for tracking physical performance testing and continues to use the scientific model for sports optimization to this day.
From 2017 to 2020 he worked as physiotherapist at Centro Asistencial Noruego in Altea, Spain, and between 2021 and 2024 he worked as Orthopaedic Manual
Physiotherapist at Fysiakos in Albir, Spain. He is currently self-employed and has teamed up with SICINICS in Albir since the beginning of March.
Karsten offers a wide variety treatments tailored to the individuals needs and wishes in order for the patients to get back to their desired activities without pain. Which include different exercise groups, home visits and individual treatment, such as joint mobilisations and manipulations, TENS, Acupuncture, Dry needling and different forms of massage and exercise rehabilitation.
